What is the best way to connect my computer to a stereo receiver so I can turn up the volume? I have a Macbook pro laptop. Is there cables or devices to attach my laptop to a receiver so I can blast music????

The Macbook's minijack can do either optical or analog line out...either get a 3.5mm to RCA red/white, or an optical cable if your receiver has one.

Thanks for the quick response. When you say mini jack, you mean the headphone jack? Also what is an Optical output/

Yup, the headphone jack. Optical output is straight digital, as opposed to the headphone, which is analog. If you're just running through your stereo then analog is fine.
